One of the biggest warnings I hear about feeding raw food to your pets, is that it contains bacteria like salmonella, that can make people quite ill, especially small children.

Here’s the thing – food is food – and whether it’s tinned, dry or raw, it can have bacteria – and yes, children have gotten salmonella from dog food – only it was kibble!

So, no matter what you choose to feed your beloved companion – please remember to wash the bowl and eating area with soap and hot water. Just use the same hygiene rules that you would apply to your human family and you can forget worrying about salmonella.
