Blu

Blu is a very special part of our family. He is a British Shorthair with a little Persian in him, and he has the funniest personality. He is incredibly affectionate, very much knows his own mind, and has become such a huge part of our everyday life. Like most cat owners, I want to do everything I can to make sure he has a long, happy and healthy life.

When it comes to Blu, I’ve always been quite particular about what he eats. I started looking more closely at cat food because I wanted to understand exactly what I was feeding him rather than simply choosing something because it had a familiar name on the packet. Cats are obligate carnivores, so I wanted his diet to reflect what his body naturally needs, with good-quality animal protein and the right balance of nutrients.

Blu has always had dry food as part of his diet, but I wanted to introduce a good-quality fresh food for his evening meal. That’s when I started looking into raw feeding. There is so much information online about raw diets, and, honestly, it can be quite overwhelming. I didn’t want to start making homemade raw food and risk getting the nutritional balance wrong. I wanted something that was specifically formulated to be complete for cats.

That’s what attracted me to LUNA & me.

I liked that the food was designed with cats in mind and that I could see exactly what I was giving Blu. The ingredients, the emphasis on meat and the fact that it was a complete food gave me much more confidence than trying to put a raw diet together myself.

Blu took to it incredibly well. He is normally very opinionated about food, so I was prepared for him to completely reject something new! Instead, he was interested straight away. Watching him enjoy his meals has honestly been one of my favourite things about introducing LUNA & me into his routine.

One of the things I particularly like is being able to give him different proteins rather than feeding exactly the same thing every day. It makes his meals feel much more varied, while still giving me confidence that he is getting a nutritionally complete diet.

For me, feeding Blu isn’t just about what he enjoys today. It is about the bigger picture and giving him the best possible foundation for the years ahead. He is only young, and I hope we have many, many years together, so nutrition is something I take seriously.

I also love that feeding him this way feels like something I am actively doing for him. There is something really lovely about preparing his food, watching him get excited when it is dinner time and knowing that I have taken the time to choose something that I believe is good for him.

Blu is more than a pet to us. He is part of our family, and that means we want to give him the same level of care and thought that we would give to any other member of our family.

Finding LUNA & me has made raw feeding feel much less complicated and much more manageable. Most importantly, Blu loves it.

For me, that is the ultimate test!
