Blue

When I switched Blue to raw a good few years ago I went with Nutriment because the ingredients were good and he enjoyed it. In 2022 I think they were acquired by axcel, a private equity firm . This was worrying but things were fine for a while. In 2024 they started to rebrand and started purchasing many other raw food brands (including one the Nutriment team originally left due to poor quality). Then they started changing the recipes and removing ingredients while increasing costs. I also kept receiving boxes that were already defrosted or otherwise had bad batches in them. So I looked into LUNA & me, asked support for some other information and they were great and very transparent. I ordered a welcome box for Blue. He enjoyed the lamb and chicken, the beef and duck & the chicken boxes a lot. He did not like the venison. He can get fussy with chicken from Nutriment (and I already didn't trust nutriment so I trusted his judgement) so this was a nice change of pace. Shame about the venison because I would have like to have had more variety in proteins. He always likes lamb so this wasn't surprising. On my next order now that I knew he liked it I tried some of the senior cat club meals, and some duck because there was none in the senior beef. Blue does not like the chicken or duck from this order. I think that it could be that the senior patties have more fish oil in, Blue is weird and doesn't eat fish. Or that those too have a 'goopier' more sloppy texture/consistency and he's quite fussy about that too. Overall the switch has been good, he's been scranning the ones he does like and seems happier with it. I also hope rabbit comes back at somepoint, I tried that from another brand and he loves rabbit too.
